Backups and Restores

Servers break, filesystems corrupt, and unexpected incidents happen. For these reasons, it is crucial to make backups of our server data and protect them. Whether it's a single file database dump or a directory tree of uploaded user avatars, we might need to make a copy and save it safely for the times when things go wrong. It's also essential to have a process in place to retrieve and restore this data at any time. Therefore we have to learn to collect, compress, encrypt and later restore any backup files.
